1 Day Field Trips

Experience the South Carolina Upcountry by spending the day at Hagood Mill in Pickens SC, with tours of our 170-year-old mill, the Petroglyph Center, blacksmith shop, moonshine still.  In addition, students can watch demonstrations by local artisans and do hands-on activities while learning about Native American/Early American artifacts, family life, school, and the church culture of the people ofAppalachia.  These classes are  outdoor and indoor.

We hope that you will consider bringing your school group to Hagood Mill Site which is in a beautiful setting at the edge of the Blue Ridge mountains.  Artisans and leaders of the tours, demonstrations, and activities are well-seasoned and knowledgeable at teaching their craft and have a high level of expertise. All classes will be SC standards-based.
