Get Out & Play Day

We have rescheduled Get Out and Play Day for May 16.  This will be a jam packed day, as we are combining multiple events that had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus.  We will have the Old Time Jam and Camping Weekend, Kidsfest, Get Out and Play Day and the Mountain Roots Herb Festival on this special weekend where the Pickens community can celebrate the precautions that we have taken and get out into the public sphere again! Yes, we are being optimistic!

Join us for a special day to enjoy the great outdoors. We will have a variety of community organizations and businesses that specialize in outdoor recreation promoting their sites and offering educational and instructional workshops.  We are still seeking collaborating organizations and community groups to lead workshops and promote their works, so please reach out to us for more information.

Back by popular demand, we will have Drum 4 Work return for an epic drumming workshop. This workshop specializes in using rhythm and percussive instruments to improve communication, inspire connection, enhance creativity, encourage collaboration, and build community.

Paper Kahnu will be performing live, bringing their funky, bluesy improv music to our stage. If you like the Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic, come on down to the Hagood Mill and check out this local band new on the scene. Bring your instruments and jam with the gang!

We look forward to getting out and playing with the community!

Admission to this event is $5 per person.  Children 12 and under are always free.  Since this is being combined with Kidsfest, YAM immediate family members will not be charged admission.  Parking is always free.  If the event is cancelled as a result of the Coronavirus, we will reimburse you for ticket purchases.  Otherwise the event is rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable.

Canceled due to COVID-19
